The national and global push to protect at least 30% of nature – lands, waters and ocean – by 2030 (“30×30”) provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to collaborate in unprecedented ways both nationally and globally to ensure that our planet’s life support systems are conserved and restored, including the climate and biodiversity. Together, we can create a better future!
Last year we worked with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) and the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC), on to a letter of support for the Biden Administration’s America the Beautiful Initiative, and specifically the incorporated commitment to 30×30, and signed by 180 zoos, aquariums and museums (ZAMs).
This initiative continues to gain interest from ZAMs and so we are keeping the sign-on process open for additional US-based ZAMs to show their support. (Others can get involved as part of the World Ocean Day global push for 30×30, now in its third consecutive year).
