Youth organizations unite for 30×30!

Calling all Youth Groups and Organizations!

Tell the Biden Administration to Protect 30% of our Lands and Ocean!

We wanted to let you know about an opportunity for youth groups, student clubs and youth-serving organizations across the United States to join together in signing a letter to the Biden Administration in support of protecting at least 30% of our lands, waters, and ocean by 2030 and increasing equitable access to nature.

30×30 is essential to safeguard biodiversity and maintain a steady climate. The U.S. is one of approximately 70 countries that have committed to 30×30. If you are based in another country please forward this to those you know in the U.S. and let us know if you’d like to get more involved in 30×30 in your own country!

By adding your organization to the letter, you will help more firmly position youth as critically important voices to be heard on these issues.

Please sign on to the letter here (https://bit.ly/youth30x30).

The deadline is February 28.

The Biden Administration released a report last year, called Conserving and Restoring America the Beautiful. It calls for a decade-long effort to advance collaborative, inclusive and locally-led conservation and restoration efforts in public, private, and tribal lands and waters. It adopts the 30×30 goal, and now we need the administration to follow through on its commitment!

The Department of Interior, in coordination with the Departments of Commerce and Agriculture, and the White House Council on Environmental Quality, invited public comment on issues related to 30×30 and this letter will be submitted as part of that process. Please sign on to this letter no later than February 28, as we plan to present it to the administration the following week. We also encourage you to submit your own comments; if interested, you can find more information here.

For all who sign we will provide you with a copy of the letter with the list of all the youth organizations signed on in support, from communities across the country.

Thank you for your involvement!

The sign-on letter was co-developed with Earth Echo International, Environment America, National Ocean Protection Coalition, and The Ocean Project.
