30×30 Annual Update for 2021: Engaging the public and informing policymakers

Collaboration on to protecting at least 30% of our blue planet, including its lands, waters and ocean, by 2030 (“30×30”) has been our top organizational priority for two years, through our campaigns with zoos, aquariums and museums; youth engagement and leadership initiative; and the World Ocean Day network.

Together, working with hundreds of organizations worldwide in 2021, we helped to grow the global movement for 30×30. Increasingly the world is realizing that a healthy ocean is a critical part of the solution to the climate and biodiversity crises. By supporting 30×30, we can protect our planet’s life support systems – specifically the interconnected issues of ocean, climate, and biodiversity.

Please see our 30×30 Annual Update: Engaging the public and informing policymakers.

The year ahead will be a critical time for helping to ensure the security of future generations for decades to come. National leaders are continuing their meetings and planning to address national and global climate, biodiversity and related issues but what we need is action!

We look forward to collaborating closely with you throughout the year to make some significant strides in helping protect the health of our blue planet. Thank you to all our Partners for your leadership in advancing conservation and to our Supporters and especially those who provide long-term support that allows us to grow the collective impact of our truly collaborative national and global networks and campaigns for our ocean.

One ocean, one climate, one future – Together!
