World Ocean Day
World Ocean Day is an opportunity each year on June 8 to celebrate our world ocean and our personal connection to the sea. Whether you live along the coast or far inland, each one of us is connected to the world's ocean. Plan or participate in a World Ocean Day event near you and celebrate your ocean connection on June 8th! The World Ocean Day website has many great ideas to celebrate and a list of World Ocean Day activities around the world for 2008.

International Coastal Cleanup Day
Saturday, September 20, 2008 - The Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup is the largest and most successful volunteer event of its kind. Since 1986 thousands of volunteers from around the globe have cleared over 100 million pounds of trash from 170,000 miles of shorelines, rivers, lakes, and wetlands!
